Melbourne University-Parkville

Overview

Construction of Trinity College student accommodation comprises of single level part basement, and four storey tower with student accommodation units. Vic Piling has constructed up to 15m deep bored piles into layer of siltstone rock and encountered shallow ground water at Melbourne University’s Trinity College campus. We have used our 25T drill rig to drill 15m deep bored piers and excavator to drill up to 8m deep piles. In addition, Vic Piling collaborated with B&D consulting engineers for designing of glass facade for the Trinity College.
Particular care had to be exercised in ensuring that the perimeter piles were drilled exactly vertical, to prevent clashing with adjacent piles at such a depth.
